I need someone to please help me diagnose and find a solution to this problem.
I have an eMachines T5274 and lately it hasn’t been working properly. About a month ago I cleaned the inside of the CPU because I had never done it before. I thought it would have a lot of dust, which it did, so I decided to clean it. Well, after cleaning it, when i went to turn it back on the fan kept running really loud and the screen was black, nothing happened. I left it alone and the next day I went to turn it back on it did the same thing. So, I unplugged it, pressed the power button for 30 seconds, plugged it back in and it worked again. This past few weeks though, the computer crashes, I get blue screens, sometimes it goes black, and other times the image gets all blurry. I scanned it for viruses with Microsoft Security Essentials and it had a couple trojans. I got rid of those but the problem remains. This morning when I went to turn it on, the fan was blowing really really loud and it wouldn’t stop so I unplugged it for 30 seconds like I had done the last time and it began to work properly again. I really don’t know what could be wrong with it. It’s only 3 years old so I don’t think “age” is the factor here. What could be wrong with it? What should I do to fix it?
Please help me and thanks

What your basically doing is discharging the power by unplugging it and holding the power button. If it seems to work fine for a little while after that i would suggest getting a new Power Supply. (The thing in the back fo the case that the power cord plugs into). Emachines in my experience dont use the mosty high quality PSU’s. Other than that the CPU might be going bad from being in the hot dusty environment for so long. I would say your PSU is probably the culprit though if the discharging helps.
Go to http://www.fixya.com they have several Q&A about this machine and possible answers for you. Good luck. I’ll see what else I can find. You may have some wires that look attached but are really not completely.
