Does Anyone Know Of Any Good Anti-virus Programs That Are Free?

By antivirus software Posted in: Microsoft Security Essentials

I’ve been using Microsoft Security Essentials for about a year now. But now the real-time protection is no longer available because the timeout period has expired. So i am looking for something else that’s also free and reliable.

You could get a free trial of AVG or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. The second one isn’t an anti-virus program but it is a pretty reliable scanner, you can perform full scans of your system and it’ll take care of any viruses it finds, plus its totally free. You can also get McAfee SiteAdvisor, I’m pretty sure that’s free cuz I have it but not McAfee anti-virus or anything. It gives me a warning if a site is dangerous or anything.

If you want free then I recommend Avast , superantispyware and Malwarebytes. coupled with Comodo firewall They are all free for personal use . It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.

AVG but prevention is better then cure you should be looking at getting good firewall software instead of virus scanners.
