How do I get rid of a virus that is sending bogus emails to all the email address in my hotmail contact list? I installed Kaspersky anti virus software but it does not seem to be working. What can I do to solve the problem? Thanks!!!

I would do 2 things, with the first thing being changing password to the email. The 2nd thing i would do would check for a malware being installed. To do this, i would run a scan with free program called Malwarebytes’ Antimalware. Good Luck !
1: Go into your email program’s spam protector settings. Review the settings that guide the filter as it blocks spam messages. Each email provider has its own filter program. Some email programs rely on the provider’s own filter to identify and remove spam. Other providers instruct users to create filters by building “rules” (i.e., to delete emails that come from specified addresses or that contain specified words) for the filter. The filter will then block spam messages according to these rules. Ensure that the filter’s rules meet your needs. Add additional rules as needed.
2: Check the email program’s junk mail folder or spam folder periodically to ensure that the folders do not contain legitimate emails. Even the most powerful email program can send a legitimate email to the spam folder by mistake. Check every week or so to make sure that emails that you want to see have not ended up in the spam/junk mail folder.
3: Observe your inbox to see if more spam than usual has been arriving in the inbox. Move such emails to the spam folder, which will identify them to the email program as spam. Report these emails to the email provider so that in the future, the provider will direct such emails immediately into the user’s spam folder.
4: Sign up with an email security check program. Email security check programs, such as emailsecuritycheck.net or gfi.com conduct vulnerability checks on the email program to determine the effectiveness of the email filter. You can also send test emails to yourself. Include the trigger words that should activate the spam filter to send the email to the spam folder. Check the spam folder to see if the filter has directed these test emails to the spam folder.
Be sure to scan your computer with several antispyware programs. If you already tried antimalware you can try superantispyware. You can find download link at http://www.pcrisk.com/top-spyware-remove… remove… Don’t forget to also scan your computer with antivirus software. If you don’t have one you should definitely get one. After you are 100% sure your computer is not infected change your email account password. Sounds like your account was hacked.
