I’ve always thought this was really weird, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about why it is.
So, if I’m watching a movie, and the main character goes through a truly, painfully, epic fail, I can’t watch. It makes me uncomfortable to watch these parts, so much that I usually end up fast forwarding or covering my eyes.
For example, I was watching Kung Fu Panda the other day, and it’s my favorite movie, but there are three parts where I actually have to mute the movie and turn away. The first is **spoilers** when Po falls in front of Oogway during the ceremony. The second is where Po is fighting the dummy and he’s just kinda standing there talking to himself, and the five are just standing there staring at him. And the last is when he goes and talks to Crane in his room.
I just could not watch these parts of the movie, they made me physically uncomfortable. Why exactly does this bother me when it doesn’t seem to bother anyone else?

This happens to me a lot to. Im not sure if this is correct but it always happens to me on days i’m feeling sensitive. Its like you feel so bad for them that its just painful to watch. Its nothing you should be ashamed of just means you are a very caring person that does not like to see people in pain even if you know its not real
I have the same problem. lol If I like the character, then I hate to see them say or do something stupid and embarrassing. I think it’s because I don’t like to be a dumb-*** myself, and so I hate to see someone else being a dumb-***. Same thing in real life. I hate to see or hear people I like and care about saying or doing something embarrassing.
i do it to its jjust you dont like being in those situattion you porbly have and thosefeeling rush back and it make you feel the same way as when you were embarressed
It is most likely because you, from witnessing these type of occurrences, become embarrassed; thus you feel uncomfortable.
