I just got a new laptop this morning, and i connected the cord to my modem, but the internet still isnt working. I open the internet, get about three web pages, and then the “Cannot connect to internet” page. I acidentally left my Norton CD in, so i took that out, and i got about 10 webpages. Then it stopped again. What am I doing wrong? My modem internet light is blinking. What does that mean?

if the modem light is blinking might mean the modem is updating
have you set up the network using the network wizard (home/public/work profile thing that comes up when you connect to a new network)
only things i can think of that will let you get some pages.
also if its ADSL make sure you have the micro filters in correctly, if not when ever someone uses the phone your internet will get cut off
