Is Moore, Oklahoma A Safe Place To Live?

By antivirus software Posted in: NORMAN

Hello, I am currently attending the University of Oklahoma in Norman. I would like to move here full time after college. I have looked around Norman and it seems to be an Okay place (no pun intended). I am originally from Johnson County, Kansas which is a very wealthy area and safe. I have looked at Moore and it seems the closest to what I am used to but it is still a different type of place. I was wondering if anyone knows what the safest place to live at is between Norman, Moore, and Oklahoma City.

If you are looking for a more affluent area, go a bit further north to Edmond. rated the best suburb in America this past week. Moore is ok, a growing suburb, depends on how close to south OKC you live. South OKC is the highest crime area in the metro. Pretty much safe in Moore, Norman, northwest OKC or Edmond. Other than for tornadoes. I’d personally never live in Moore, since it has been hit so many times by tornadoes in the past 15 years or so. Seems to have a big bullseye on the west side of Moore. Though up in Edmond where I live, we’d been hit by one and had another come within half a mile in the past 15 years too. If you are looking at settling down, getting married and having kids, Edmond does have the highest rated schools. In Edmond North last spring they brought in drug dogs and searched the lockers and cars- and only arrested 6 kids with drugs. With over 2000 students, that’s pretty good.
