MSE is best you can get for free, as there are no paid version of MSE. That means you do not get paid version pushed. However, there are benefits for using commercial program, as they have more perks (like browser guard, better rootkit detection, etc).
I would not use MCafee. There are better commercial antiviruses (Kaspersky, for example)

McAfee (asuming you didn’t mean mcafree). Whats even better is AVG free.
Contrary to popular belief, your PC doesn’t even need an anti-virus system. Just exercise reasonable caution when installing and running software.
