i use webroot desktop firewall and i can only use google chrome when i set my firewall to “allow all traffic”. Google Chrome does not appear in the applications menu so i can’t even find it to adjust it’s settings

I also use Norton Security 2011.

Was browsing my mcafee settings and I noticed the firewall detection settings are all set to ‘no’. Surely this means that firewall will not detect any threats to my computer????! What are the recommended settings for firewall detection?

My downloads are going much much faster while its off. Is it fine to leave the firewall off while not visiting sites such as “porn, game, unsecure” sites. Etc. Thanks kindly
