Virus Is Blocking Internet Access And I Don’t Have Any Protection?

Please help me.
Just a few minutes ago my laptop got infected with some virus that is blocking my internet.
It just shows a screen saying “Internet Explorer (I’m using Firefox by the way) cannot display this web page” and a program keeps popping up saying I have a virus and it keeps trying to scan my computer. Is it called malware?
My Norton just recently expired, so I have no protection. I know now that there are some free ones online, and i have a flash drive but I don’t know how to move programs from one computer to another.
Sorry if I confused any of you, I don’t know a lot about computers, any help is appreciated!

    hi there buddy, i’m guessing you have an windows laptop well sorry bad news the virus is an worm!! the worst computer virus you can get… to help don’t touch you laptop because if the virus is programed to infect .exe file when activated the virus will get deeper in to your system which will lead to failer… STOP!! DON’T TURN YOU LAPTOP OFF AN TAKE IT To the nearest pc repairer (“most likely your laptop will be wiped so disconnect the internet) hope this helps

    Getting rid of the virus:
    1st way
    I’m no computer expert, but i’ll try to help you…
    Go to Start –> All Programs –> Accessories –> System Tools
    Then double click on “System Restore”.
    Choose a date on the list when the computer was working ok, and follow on screen instructions.
    NOTE: If you installed anything on the computer after the virus came, windows will delete that as well.
    If that dosen’t work, you could try re-installing windows with the disk that MIGHT have come with the laptop, but it may have not.
