Two months back I have installed Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) on our office PC & updated it regularly. When I copied some files from other PC to a pen drive & scanned the pen drive on PC with MSE, no virus was detected. I scanned the same pen drive in my home PC with Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) which was not updated since 2 months, detected some virus. So, is MSE so weak or Kaspersky showing false virus..?
I have been using KIS since long time & I trust it. Just want to know your opinion on this.

Kaspersky has had some trouble with false positives in the past, however, MSE has had quite a bit of trouble with bad detection ratings so you might want to go give it a scan with a few different ones before you open the file.
There are websites on the internet that allow you to upload a file and will scan it with multiple scanners.
According to me both are good and better than others like Norton, mcafee and bit defender.I have been using Kaspersky Internet security 2011 for one year and since then I’m using Microsoft Security Essentials.I never came across any malware problem. No anti virus program can have 100% detection rate.So better stick to MSE because it’s free and its hundred times better than other free anti viruses.
