Which Is Better: Avg Free, Malwarebytes Free, Or Microsoft Security Essentials?

   MS Essentials is reported to be better than AVG free edition in terms of detection rate and features available. It’s also updated more, since it’s published by Microsoft, who have a whole team dedicated to tracking down and eliminating viruses and other threats.
   Malwarebytes is not a AntiVirus. Instead, it complements your antivirus suite by detecting rootkits, keyloggers, malware, adware etc. Sometimes it will pick up things that your AntiVirus misses, and generally, Antiviruses will not detect Adware as malicious.
   I’d recommend you consider Avast Free Edition, since it’s probably the best free AV solution out there and has repeatedly outdone all other free antiviruses, and complement it with MalwareBytes.
   @Edit : You just download an AntiVirus, install it, and it should automatically create an autorun process and start every time you turn on your computer.
   Avast is considered to have a better selection of features and a better detection rate compared to MSE.
   Avira does not offer the same comprehensive protection as Avast or MSE, but has a higher detection rate that AVG free.

   MSE is no-doubt the best free security software for Windows atm idc what ppl are saying.
   What do you mean how do you enable it? As soon as you download it it’ll run automatically in the background same as they all do. There will be a little green icon in the taskbar that you can right click and check the status.

   Grey download button for the free edition, but I suggest the pro version, it’s only 25 dollars for a lifetime license.
   SUPERAntiSpyware, it’s free:http://www.superantispyware.com/
   These 3 programs will detect/remove the vast majority of malware.

   Malwarebytes isn’t AV. Its anti-malware
   I recommend using both MSE and Malwarebytes. MSE is active and Malwarebytes isn’t unless you pay for it. Thus the footprint is pretty small.
